I have succumb to the massive spam and promotions out there. I have been seeing these really cute Paul & Joe sets. I thought for a real long time about getting it or not. I have loads of makeup that I will probably never finish using. Also, I don't wear much makeup. I mean, I do wear makeup everyday, but just simple foundation and eyeliner. I don't even wear eye shadow. To simplify my daily make up as I need to rush out the door each morning, I use Jill Stuart's gel shadow on my lids to brighten it up. That's it, no other eye shadow.
It's the lipstick-like thing in a cat shape that first got my attention. I was going to get the set only, but the sales kept on telling me if I buy a little bit more, than I can join their VIP program and get 10% off in future purchases and 2 cash coupons that I can use next time. I tried to stop myself from buying, yet Cho kept on encouraging me to buy. I gave in and these are what I got. I got the 2013 holiday set in color 001 Sugar & Spice, 2 nail polishes and a nail care oil. The lip gloss is a free gift for the purchase.
Inside the makeup bag are 3 products. When I first saw the promo pictures, I thought they are lipsticks, eye shadow and lip gloss. The whole set wasn't very appealing as 1. I don't wear lipsticks, 2. I hardly ever wear eye shadow and 3. I have loads of lip gloss. After looking carefully, I realized it's not a lipstick, it's a blush stick! Even better! Because I don't wear lipsticks. I, at most, only wear lip gloss.
Isn't it absolutely cute? The blush stick from this set (001) is pinkish while the one from set 002 is more brownish. I tried this color on my hand and it's a very subtle pink. Very natural looking. This will be very convenient to carry around. I never bring blush with me when I am out as I find it really annoying to have to bring the blush palette along with a brush. It can be clumsy when trying to touch up your blush when you are out. It would be super disgusting if you drop your blush or your brush on the floor. With this blush stick, all I need are my fingers.
Not a fan of this eye shadow. I am not saying the color is bad. In fact, it's pretty nice. Very smooth and fine. It's just that I already have similar colors and as I said before, I rarely wear eye shadow.
So I thought this was a lip gloss. Then I realized it's actually a creamy glitter eye shadow!!!! Love it! Very glittery. Just what I need as I have used up my other gold shimmery liquid shadow. Just a tiny snot size and it's enough for your entire lid.
The first bottle is a nail care oil. It's thicker than the usual nail oil that I have, but it absorbs a lot faster than the liquidy ones I have.
Then there's the pink #26 and orangy #32.
I haven't tried out the colors. Can't wait to do so, but as my nails are quite weak at the moment, I'll need to wait a couple weeks before I can do my nails again.
