Little Twin Stars Water Decal Nail Art

Little Twin Stars Water Decal Nail Art

I saw these really cute Little Twin Stars water decal and got a whole bunch of them thinking of selling them on Etsy.  It was a wholesale place, so I had to get a load.  However, because of trademark and patent or whatever you call it, I can't sell these on Etsy.  So, now, I think I will have to do 200 manicures of Little Twin Stars....or until I find a way to get rid of them.  Any suggestion on where I can sell these?

The quality of this decal is really really good.  The color is very opaque so the base color won't really show through.  It is thin enough to give a smooth finish.  What more can I ask for in a water decal, right?

I found this old sponge under the sink to sponge on some colors on my nails.

I just cut a tiny piece on the corner to do my nails and when I am done with the little piece, I just throw it away.  I think this is definitely cheaper than using makeup sponge.  It's a little gross that it's an old sponge.  Maybe using a fresh new sponge would be better.  Let's not think about all the bacteria growing in this sponge now.

Here are the polishes I used from left to right:
Sally Hansen Triple Strong Strengthener
Lioele #30
Holika Holika unknown yellow
American Apparel Coney Island 36507
Saem Ardent Lady AJ07
Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat

First I painted my nails with 2 layers of white to prep my nails for sponging.

Then cut out little pieces from the sponge and sponge on various colors on my nails.  Make sure the sponge isn't too wet with polish when you do it.  Test it out on a piece of paper before you dab it on your nails.

I think it's already really pretty with just sponging on the colors alone.  I think I can definitely wear this manicure after a top coat to add some glossiness.

Then just apply the water decal.  Wait until everything is dry and apply top coat! Easy!

  1. The decals wouldn't look so good without the gorgeous base you created. It is a fantastic and lovely combination!
