Momosan - Honolulu, Hawaii

There are plenty of Japanese restaurants in Honolulu.  Was craving for some ramen and found Momosan.  The place looks more like a western restaurant than a Japanese restaurant.  They specialize in ramen.

They have some grill food on a stick.  Not cheap not cheap...

I guess the place is a somewhat upscale restaurants.  So, we had higher expectation for the food.

We order gyoza.  It's just like any gyoza you would get in Japanese restaurants.  Nothing fancy.  Not particular tasty or juicy.

Then we ordered a ramen.  The kind where the noodle and soup comes separately and you are supposed to pick up the dry noodle and dip into the soup before eating.  To be honest, I was very disappointed by their ramen.  The presentation wasn't great.  The taste was just meh.  For a restaurant boasting they specialize in ramen, I expected a bowl of noodle with flavors to wow us.  Turns out it's just some regular ramen that was below average in terms of taste and presentation.

Then also a skewer of asparagus wrapped in pork.  Also meh...

Total came to US$49.21 before tips.  We had 2 ramen, a gyoza and a skewer.  I guess the price wasn't too bad, but I'd rather get ramen somewhere else.

Momosan is at point 18 in Places Part 1 on the map below:
