Day 2: Uminonakamichi Seaside Park - Fukuoka, Japan

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park~  So pretty!  So relaxing.  We could have spent a day here.  If we were to arrive a week or 2 later, the flowers would have been in full bloom.  It was the end of April when we went.

To get there, we took the municipal ferry at Hakata Port Tower.  Information can be found on http://yasuda-gp.net/english/hakata

However, the schedule for the ship didn't match the one we saw online.  Perhaps we read it wrong.  We just head to Hakata Port Tower by taxi, which was quite close to where we live, and got a 2 way tickets to Saitozaki.  Surprisingly, the ferry to Saitozaki was big and nice with table and sofas~  The ferry back wasn't like this though.  The ferry back was small and tight, but still clean.

Time to head out!

There's a glimpse of the Hakata Port Tower~

Finally we have arrived!  This part of town sure is quiet~

Follow the sign to get to the west entrance.  There are many flower along the way.  It's a day full of kids of different schools.  Season for school field trips?

Tickets to enter the park is 410 yen~

Lots of koi fish in the pond that will follow people around.  Too bad we had nothing to feed the fish with.

It is such a peaceful park.  Too bad it was a little cloudy that day.

A field of flowers and there is no one trying to fight for a good selfies.  Great to have the field all to ourselves!

There are some wisteria as well!

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park's West entrance is at point x in the list "Places Part 1" on the map below:
