Day 4: Kawabata Shopping Arcade - Fukuoka, Japan

All my friends say Fukuoka is boring.  They prefer Tokyo or Osaka.  To them Osaka is too "rural" already.  So, Fukuoka to them is a place where old people go.  However, out of the 3 places, I like Fukuoka the most.  Why go to the crowded Tokyo when you can experience the crowd in Causeway Bay in Hong Kong?  The reason I go on vacation is usually because I want to get away from Hong Kong and away from the crowd.  So, without a good reason, I won't go to Tokyo.  I'd rather spend a few days in this quiet Fukuoka.

Came to Kawabata Shopping Arcade which was just a few train stations from where we were staying.  We were actually just walking through it to reach to one of the temples.  It was such a quiet shopping arcade, unlike the one in Osaka.  There were barely anyone shopping there.  I don't know how the shops survive.  They don't sell much clothing and for the shops that do, the clothes aren't for young people.  Nonetheless, my friends still found things to buy.  They could hardly pull themselves out of the shops.  Got some souvenir and food here~

While they were shopping, I got bored and bought a croquette sandwich.  It was sooooo cheap.  Like 50 yen? or 100 yen?  I can't remember.   It was pretty good too!

See what I mean about not selling trendy clothes?

I guess these would make good souvenirs?

These baby clothes were soooo cute!

Spent way too much time here to buy food.

Got some mentaiko mayo! Soy sauce! And other random stuff.

Then we got to the tofu skin care shop~  We didn't buy the skincare, but we did get the tofu ice cream that taste just like tofu!  Feels weird, but good.

Kawabata Shopping Arcade is at point e in the list "Places Part 1" on the map below:
