Day 3: 元祖ラーメン - Fukuoka, Japan
There are a lot of 元祖ラーメン around where I was staying. I think there were about 3 元祖ラーメン shops within the 2 blocks, which is just crazy. So, we were thinking, "is it really that good that they need that many 元祖ラーメン in such close proximity?". We went there for some late night snack. It's only 450 yen per bowl! To add extra noodle, it's just 100 yen, and extra meat, also 100 yen! Good deal!
It opens 24 hours....and the place was quite packed even thought it was after midnight. So, we thought the noodle must be amazing. The place isn't fancy or anything. It's seems just like any cheaply priced restaurants where people would go to after parties.
So, the noodle came and it was quite disappointing. I expected it to taste better seeing so many people there. However, it taste more like instant ramen you would find in regular grocery stores. I guess the only reason there are so many people was because it's so cheaply priced?
元祖ラーメン is a point F, G and H in the list "Places Part 2" on the map below. I went to the one at point F:
