Diamond Head Trail - Honolulu, Hawaii
The best way to get up to Diamond Head? Just uber! Save your much needed energy from walking up to the start of the trail. I love how there is Uber in Hawaii. Saved us a lot of money from taxi and comfort from walking under the burning sun!
What is it with pineapple and Hawaii? Everywhere I go, I see either pineapple the fruit being sold or pineapple related merchandise. Here, $10 for an pineapple. May seem expensive at first, but I can totally understand why people can't get their hands away from one after the hike under the scorching sun.
Such a beautiful day. I love how there is a big flat field. Not something that can be easily found in Hong Kong.
There is a $1 entrance fee to the trail. Not that there is a gate. I guess it's an honesty system.
If visiting in the summer, must wear lots of sun screen. Your shoulder/face will thank you. What's with the sun in Hawaii? How come it burns more than usual? Comparable to the sun in Australia.
Reminds me of Lion King. Looks like a place I would find Simba.
It's not a super long trail, but when you look up from the bottom, it's discouraging to see how high up you have to go.
There were a lot of people!
Every few minute there is a view point for you to stop and enjoy the scenery.
There is a fast way and a long way to go up to the top. We chose the fast way, which is this steep stair. Quite narrow, so you can't stop walking if you don't want to cause any traffic. A good way to burn the fat on your bum and thigh.
Finally we were up!
But more stairs were waiting us.
Yay! To the top! It was so hot that day! The sun wasn't helping. We were dying from thirst.
But the view at the top worth it all.
The parking lot below is where we started. Felt accomplished.
Time to go back down through the tunnels and all.
The trail up and down took us around 2 hours with all the stopping for water and photos. Good exercise. Great view. I am the type that never do any exercise. So, it's definitely an easy trail.
