Waikiki Farmers Market - Honolulu, Hawaii
What to do on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon in Honolulu? Let's go to the Waikiki Farmers Market. They only open on Tues and Thurs from 4pm to 8pm. Sounds like my kind of job. Only 8 hours of work a week. If only my work hours is like that. It is almost right across from Waikiki beach.
There are some other farmers markets in Honolulu, but we found the pictures of this market on google map most appealing. Google map is such a wonderful invention. I basically plan my trip with google map. The lazy way to do it...might not be the best, but it's easy.
Lots of stalls selling weird looking fruit. Was not tempted to buy the fruits though. I have tried plenty of tropical fruits in Hong Kong and sometimes I regret it. Seems one of the most popular fruit in Hawaii or anywhere is pineapple. Not just popular in the sense of fruit, but it's pineapple on clothes, accessories and many other random things. However, I hate that fruit, it makes my throat itch and hurt. I don't like the flavor as well. Don't know how people can enjoy them.
Anyways, there were many stalls selling jewelries.
We were so tempted to buy necklaces. Many of them were so cute.
Then there were some sugary goodies as well. Promising that help us a few more unnecessary pounds.
I can't say it is must go market. It's just a place to stroll by if there is spare time. It is in the middle of the busiest street of Honolulu anyways.
Waikiki Farmers Market is at point 5 in Places Part 1 on the map below:
