Day 6 - Hamheung Naengmyeon Alley
I love Naengmyeong (Cold Noodle). So, we search online and found there is a Naengmyeong Alley (or town or area) in Seoul where there are lots of naengmyeon. So, first thing in the morning we came here. The shop was filled with senior people. We were probably the only youngsters in the shop. I guess, cold noodle is a thing for old people. we find it kind of weird that old people like eating cold noodle as the buckwheat noodle can be a bit tough and chewy. At least that would not be something my grandma prefer eating. They basically only sell 3 or 4 things. Beef cold noodle, fish cold noodle and something else.
Below is the fish noodle.
Here is my beef noodle.
We thought it would be just a small bowl. Turns out it's huge and none of us could finish our noodle. I only ate about 1/3 of the bowl....what a waste. Feel bad about leaving so much food behind. It was good! Well, I can't really tell what's good and what's not as I don't know what it's the traditional dish is suppose to taste like. I just know the bowl of noodle I had here was great. And also seeing how the little shop was filled with older supporters, this place probably has a pretty authentic recipe.
