Day 6 - Taipei - Yongle Market

Cannot count the number of times we have been to Taiwan but this is the first time we visit Yongle Market 永樂市場 (Eat 53). Came here before we saw some IG videos of this Chinese wrap call a 潤餅. Anyways, it's pretty close to Ximending, 20 minutes walk away. The area of around Yongle Market is traditional looking. Actually, intentionally traditional looking, making it an obvious tourist attraction. Not sure why we never heard of or came here in the past.

The inside is pretty clean. No wet floor. There are a few food stalls. Some with super long lines.

There are 2 Japanese food stalls and there this one Wanlong 丸隆生魚行 (Eat 54) was fully packed. They serve sushi and sashimi. And has unlimited refilled of miso seafood soup.

Not very cheap given that it's not actually a restaurant.

I usually hate fish soup, but for some reason their soup is not fishy at all. Lots of ingredients in the soup as well. Very aromatic, can taste the shrimp in it. It's unlimited refills. I felt half full after just drinking 1 bowl though.

We ordered the assorted belly sashimi that has salmon and hamachi. No idea what the 3rd fish is. Although there is not weird taste, I wouldn't say it's very good. At least it's fresh since it doesn't stink. But at the same time, there is no flavor. If I close my eyes when I eat this, I wouldn't know I am eating fish.

Order ikura and fish fin sushi. Both are so-so. Not bad, not good.

Found the wrap place Linliang 林良號 (Eat 55) that we saw on IG. It was before noon when we arrive and we got the last wrap.....it was all sold out after us. Lucky we got there just 1 min earlier than the girl after us.

Just NT$55 per wrap. There is several flavor to choose from: original, seaweed, spicy and wasabi. They say their most popular flavor is original and that's what I got.
