Day 1 - Flying to Taipei and Staying at RF Hotel

Time to fly again. Flying to Taiwan this time just before the weather gets too hot. It's been quite a few years since I flew on Cathay Pacific. Their food tastes sooooo much better than before. No more funky smells. Flight from Hong Kong to Taipei is just a little over an hour and they still manage to serve hot food.

It was a full flight. Seems like everyone can't wait any longer to get out of the country.

The last time I visited Taiwan, there wasn't metro from the Taoyuan airport to Taipei station. Finally, the metro finished building this time I went. It's almost an hour ride from airport to Taipei station. Almost as long as my flight.

Staying at RF Hotel (Stay 5) near Zhongxiaodunhua Station. Too much work to transit on the train. Taxi from Taipei station to hotel is less than NT$200. Find taxi so convenient that I can't persuade myself to take public transit most of the time during my stay in Taiwan.

I was quite hesitant to enter this hotel. It is quite hidden. The entrance isn't easy to spot. The elevator area and hotel lobby was still under construction. I thought I would need to find another place to stay, since it seem quite sketchy at first.

Luckily, our concern subsided a little when we got to our room's floor and it looks quite OK.

It's is so new that many of the room's number is just a piece of paper.

The rooms inside look OK though. A little small, but manageable.

The washroom has this moldy/humid smell though. Also the window are very see through. People outside can totally see what's inside. So, need to keep the blinds down at all time. Wouldn't want people to look in during shower. There is a design flaw with the bath tub. Water keep flowing out during a shower. Making the floor all wet after shower.
