Day 2: 彩虹眷村 Caihongjuan Village - Taichung, Taiwan

We hired a cab for the day.  The driver is super friendly and he brought his wife as a guide as well.  He helped us plan our day and bringing us to eat some famous local food.  I searched for hiring a car online and usually it's NT$4000-4500 for 9 hours for so.  

I found this driver randomly online that he charges NT$3500 for the day.  He's a cab driver.  His cab is very new and clean~  We spent the day with him for about 10 or 11 hrs and he did charge us extra.  However, we insisted in tipping him NT$500 because we had such a great day.

We started off the day at a breakfast place.  They said it's very famous.  It was about 9:30am.  Look at the crowd lining up...crazy.  We ordered take out, which is what most people were doing.  We filled in what we want on a piece of paper provided while we were lining up.

A big sign hanging that pretty much says "Yummy Food Hero"....are they over exaggerating?

There are so many people waiting outside.  Our order came after 15 minutes or so.

Finally, our order arrived.  We got a couple of crepe/egg roll thing and a pork and egg sandwich~

I think they are all good, but it tastes just like any other breakfast sandwiches I had in Taiwan.  So, I am unsure what the hype was about.  We ate breakfast in the car while the driver drove us to the Rainbow Village (Caihongjuan Village).  It was a lot smaller than I expected.  It was a small area of a few houses with colorful drawings all over it.  Nonetheless, it was a great place for selfies~
