FAMA - Taipo, Hong Kong
There are a lot of hidden restaurants in former industrial buildings. I have been seeing some ads on Facebook from FAMA. Saw many other people posting pictures from this restaurant as well. Decided to give it a try. The restaurant is quite self serve, like a coffee shop. We ordered our food at the counter, went and set our own table then pick up our orders when they are ready.
Their steak isn't the best, but definitely a lot better than typical Chinese restaurants. It is not tenderized with chemical like most local Chinese restaurants would do.
English breakfast. Great for instagram and for the taste. I like how the truffle scrambled egg isn't swimming in oil like some other restaurants would do.
Fish and chips. Nothing to complain here.
Huge burger. There is a piece of pineapple inside. That's the only thing I would complain about. I don't like pineapple. I don't understand why people would food pineapple in their burgers.
Crab risotto. I thought this dish would be my least favorite. There is no color and looked bland. Surprisingly, it taste a hundred times better than it looks. Lots of crab meat.
The restaurant is spacious and not crowded. At least it wasn't crowded during the time I went on the weekend. I guess it would be busier during weekdays as there are lots of office nearby.
FAMA is at point c in Places Part 2 on the map below:
