養心殿台式養生鍋 Taiwanese Hotpot - Jordan, Hong Kong
Anytime is a good time for hotpot. This time, Taiwanese style hotpot. Love the interior design of this 養心殿台式養生鍋 at Jordan. A little hidden but because of that, we were able to get a table. Their other locations were fully booked. A thing I don't like about the design of this place is that they use wooden benches for chairs. The thin type of benches that I can still probably find at my grandma's house, but no where else. That is super uncomfortable to sit on and nothing to rest your back on. I guess it's the restaurant's tactic. Force their customers to eat fast and leave asap, so a new set of customer can come in.
Even the pot looks authentic.
We ordered 2 soup base. One side is the spicy soup with duck blood and the other one is some healthy soup that I can't remember. There is a herbal taste to it.
Ordered a bunch of food. A little too much. The 3 of us were not able to finish everything. The soup itself came with a lot of chicken/duck blood to it. Lots of flavour in the soup. The food that gets cooked in it soaks up all the flavor. So, even though there is a sauce bar, I didn't really need to dip my meat/food in the sauce. The soup itself was enough.
Shrimp paste is always my favorite.
Hotpot would not be hotpot without beef! I don't like hand cut beef slice. I prefer these thinly slice beef a lot more and they are actually cheaper.
A whole bowl of duck blood that comes with the soup.
Nom nom nom....
