Empire City Roasted Duck 大都烤鴨 - Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong
Most of the time when we have a girls night, we would get peking duck. Love the savory, juicy and crispy skin of the duck wrap in pancakes with the sweet seafood sauce. Went to Empire City Roasted Duck 大都烤鴨 for our recent gathering. So good. For an order of a full duck, we got 2 plates of the duck skin above. To be honest, I think the portion is a little small. I guess it's quality over quantiy that's more important. I love how they slice away most of the fat underneath the skin, leaving only the thin crispy top. The pancake is also very soft and thin, won't over power the aromatic flavor of the duck. This place is still not my favorite place for peking duck though, but close to the top.
Since we were having Shanghai food, of course we had to have dan dan noodle~ Mildly spicy and nutty. I can never get enough of dan dan noodle. One thing I don't like about the noodles here is that it is on the soft side. I like stiffer noodle.
Scared that we won't be full, we ordered a salty egg yolk fried rice. Salty egg yolk makes everything tastes good, so no complain here.
Then of course we have to have xiao long bao. Soup dumpling. Super thin wrapping and filled with hot soup. If only I won't get fat after eating, then I'd eat 20 of these.
Lastly is the spicy/sour soup fish. It's not spicy at all...just sour. Anyways, it's still good. No fishy taste at all.
