Day trip to Macau

It was a boring weekend and decided to head to Macau for lunch.  Wanted to check out 官也街 Rua do Cunha (Eat 2) for some street food.

Going to Macau by bus again.  Cheaper and faster to get to Macau from the New Territories.

After getting off at the Macau arrival hall, hopped onto bus 102X to head to  官也街 Rua do Cunha.  Bus is $2 only.

It's crazy crowded.

Everywhere I turn, it's mainlanders speaking in Mandarin.  So many people.  Are the food really that good that people need to flood to this street?

Literally wanted to leave immediately.  But since it took me over an hour to get here, I must get something before I go and never come back.

Got some beef jerky~

Again, lots of people trying to get beef jerky.

Then went for pork chop bun, what Macau is known for.  I went to Tai Lei Loi Kei 大利來記豬扒包 (Eat 3).  There are no tables and chairs to dine at.  You just buy take out and eat while standing.

Not cheap for a bun.  $55 - 65 for one.

Got one with pineapple bun

and one with the pineapple croissant.

To be honest, it's really just a regular pan fried pork chop in a bun.  Nothing outstanding and not worth coming all the way here.  I was already 80% full after the porkchop buns.

There is a shop nearby selling Taiwan food.  I forgot the name.  It was ok but the portion is pretty small.  Makes me miss Taiwan.

Anyways, the stinky tofu doesn't have much flavors there.

Their oyster egg was ok, but they dun have that tangy sauce.

There were several shops selling beef inards.  People would get in line that says it has a wait time of 50 minutes, which I absolutely won't do.  So, I picked one with a short line at 榮記牛雜 Wing Kee Beef Offal (Eat 4).

No matter what you order, you basically get a mixture of the same thing unless you specify what certain part you want.  So, what they show on the banner is useless information.  You don't get everything they list there.  You just get whatever they have to available.

It's good though!

Went and got a lemon tea at Bao Da Lemon Tea 爆打檸檬茶(氹仔官也店) (Eat 5).  Lots of people getting drinks there, but they staffs are fast!

There is a souvenir shop (Buy 1) selling all the things people don't need but usually end up buying when they travel to a new place.

Across the road is Carmo Hall 嘉模會堂 (See 2).

After that I just walk to nearby hotels to get out of the sun and enjoy some air conditioning.  The Venetian, Parisian, Londoner all in the same area.

Ended the day in Londoner and got some drinks at KOI (Eat 6) to cool down.  Too much walking and way to hot to be outside.
