Getting to JFK Airport and flying on Cathay Pacific - New York
Time flies. It was time to go home. Asked the hotel I was staying at to help me get a cab to the JFK airport, but instead of getting a yellow cab, they booked another transport service. The receipt and everything all in Spanish. Even the driver speaks Spanish. Was a little hesitant at first, but at the end got to the airport safely. Total after tips was $100 usd. Pricey but I don't want to take public transportation with a huge luggage.
Don't know when I will be able to set foot in New York again...
Other than one convenience store at the departure hall, there is nothing else. So, I just check in and enter the boarding area.
After passing the customs, there are some duty free shops, but not much. Pretty small airport.
Flying on Cathay. The only airline with direct flight from New York to Hong Kong at the time I was flying.
A full flight...sad
A long 16 hours flight.
I like how they still give out printed menu.
I like that it comes with Hagen Daz ice cream for lunch. I got the chicken with mashed potato.
Salmon with potato salad was good.
For dinner, I got pulled pork chilli with pasta. It's pretty good. Again, the main kitchen for Cathay outside of Hong Kong is good.
The rest of my trip:
