Sarge’s Delicatessen & Diner - New York

Saw some people online giving this place a high rating about Sarge's Delicatessen & Diner's (Eat 23) pastrami sandwiches.  It was my last day in New York, so had to try it out.
It's a cozy diner.  The staff there are vey "down to earth".  I don't mind their rudeness, reminds me of restaurants in Hong Kong.  Can't really say they are rude, they are just more real.  No pretentious fake greetings.  And they rush customers to order almost immediately after sitting down.  Suddenly felt like I was back to Hong Kong.

Had the half sandwich with soup.  When asked what kind of soups were available, I got yelled at.  Wasn't upset though.  It was almost funny.  I guess the waitress had a rough morning.  At the end, I just got a chicken noodle soup to go with it.  I thought for this price, it would be at least partly house made chicken noodle soup.  However, I am pretty sure it's the chicken noodle soup that comes in powder forma and you just add hot water to it and stir.  At least it tasted like it.  Super salty too.

Comes with a a plate of cold slaw and pickles

As for the half sandwich, it's really not that big.  They do stack up the meat though.

Is it good?  I'd say it's ok.  Is it worth specially coming to have the sandwich?  No.  It taste like any other pastrami sandwich, maybe just more meat.  Just salty.  At least it's not something I would crave for.
