Day 2: Subway in New York

Although I have been to New York several times, but I have always avoided their subway because of their infamous stories.  But I am poor and I am staying in New York for half a month.  If I want to explore farther places, then I need to take the subway.  It's not like I am loaded so I can take Uber all the time.

But why such a big city has such a crappy metro?  It's old, stinky, dirty, dark and creepy.  Why there are so many weird people in the subway?  Which makes me wonder...there are plenty of weird people in Asia, but I rarely see any in Asia's subway system.  How do Hong Kong/Seoul/Taiwan/Japan keep weird people out of the metro system?  Anyways, I am grateful to be living in a city with a great subway system that is easy to navigate, clean, bright with no smell.
