Weekend Trip to Macau: On the Ferry and Checking into Sheraton Hotel

It has been a long time since I have been to Macau. Although it is so close to Hong Kong and is viewed as a good weekend getaway location for many people in Hong Kong, it has become more and more expensive over the past few years. The last time I went to Macau was over 10 years ago so a lot has changed.

Seats on the ferry is quite decent and it only takes around an hour to get to Macau from Hong Kong. The ferry is equip with free wifi which is a must for more people these days. Before the trip, we did debate for a while weather or not we should get a Macau data sim card so we can go online while we were there. We didn't end up buying one which was a great decision because there was wifi everywhere we went since we mostly stayed inside the different hotels.

Once you get off the ferry and past customs, you will have to look for the shuttle bus to your hotel, they are a bit scattered, so if you don't see your hotel bus right infront of the doors, don't worry just keep walking straight because you will eventually see another cluster of tour buses.

The hotel shuttle bus was also equip with wifi which was awesome, but the ride was only around 15 mins since we got off at the very first stop. We got off at Conrad Hotel since it is connected to Sheraton and it was around 10am so we figured our rooms won't be ready yet so we went to explore for a bit.

We booked two regular two bedrooms since this was a family trip, but to our surprise one of our rooms had a free upgrade to a suite which was really sweet!!

Now below is what the suite looks like. It was a very comfy room and I love how big and bright the washroom was.

Sheraton Hotel is at point 1 on the map below:
