Sasamat Lake Loop & Swamp Haven - Port Moody BC, Canada
Can't believe we have been living in Vancouver for years and never went to Sasamat Lake. Love the beautiful lake with super clear water. There is also a trail loop around the lake that is mostly flat, so it is super to walk around. Takes about 40 minutes to walk around the lake. Unfortunately, we didn't know we can swim in the lake. Didn't bring any change of clothes/swim wear.
There are lots of tree through out the trail, so it won't get too hot in the summer.
There are bears in the area though. On the day we went, bears were spotted so it was recommended that people don't bring food into the park.
The swamp was so pretty as well.
There are so many people there at the lake. I want to bring my float to the lake just float around for hours as well.
Although there are warning signs everything about bears, but people didn't seem to care. They all had their food out in the open. I guess the bears won't come near when there are so many people?
There is a camp like place out there as well. Heard lots of kids doing some sort of rope course there.
Sasamat Lake is at point L in Places Part 4 on the map below:
