Day 4: 純發西點麵包 Chun Fa Bakery - Kaohsiung, Taiwan

We were going to be late for our flight, but we needed to prepare for our meal on flight first.  We were going to fly on CX and their food was crap during our flight from Hong Kong to Kaohsiung.  I literally gagged and spit out the food after taking just 1 bite.  Our friend took us to her all time favorite local bakery to 純發西點麵包 Chun Fa Bakery.



The bakery smelled so good!  The entire place was filled with the aroma of freshly baked buttery goods.  They were selling some very traditional cakes and pastries.  Something quite hard to find nowadays unless we go to some very small private bakeries in Hong Kong.







The place is well known for their buttery green onion buns.  We got 3.  One for each of us.  It was still warm when we bought it.  Not only was the top brushed with thin later of butter, so was the bottom, making the top and bottom slightly crispy while the inside was super soft and fluffy.



Is butter really cheap in Kaohsiung?   How can they use to much?  Not that I am complaining as it tasted so good, but I did feel guilty after eating it.  It feels so fattening.
