Day 1: Museum of illusions and stinky tofu next to a busy road - Taichung, Taiwan

Took us 1.5 hour to walk from 28 Shuxiang Hotel to the Museum of Illusion (See 43) when it was supposed to be a 20 minutes walk. We were too distracted by all the things along the way. When we arrived, turns out the museum is just a small part from this old building.

Admission was 380 TWD, not cheap comparing to the living standards in the area and also that this "museum" is super tiny. Nonetheless, we still paid to go in to see if it's worth at all. Also, we were there already, so why not.

There are 3 floors to the museum, each no more than a thousand square feet.

To be honest, the museum is crappy. It's definitely not worth going in. Their displays are some old / small / simple illusions that you would have come across in school books or kids playground. They say you have 1.5 hour limit to explore, but it really wouldn't take you more than 45 minutes to go through everything. No wonder this place isn't recommended when you google.

Disappointed with the museum, we walked across the street for some stinky tofu and noodle at Laiyiwan 來一碗 (Eat 78) to fill the void of disappointment in us.

Love Taiwan style stinky tofu. Whether deep fried or in a soup, all good.

Then it was time to wander back to our hotel. And couldn't stop ourselves from going into the convenience store to check out what kind of junk we can get for late night snacks later.
