Day 2: West District of Taichung, Taiwan

After checking out Xitun and West District of Taichung, I am contemplating which area I should be staying at the next time I visit.  Xitun District seems older while Xitun seem a little busy and slightly more modern with more malls.

After visiting Shenji New Village, I started wandering around and found a taiyaki stall Fu Lu So Se (Eat 80) nearby.  It's just a tiny little booth on the side of a small street, but lots of people lining up to buy.

Place order online or by filling out the order sheet.  Very affordable price for a super filled taiyaki.  The outside is chewy like a mochi.  Yummy.

Wanted to go to a nearby cafe call Burnt (Eat 83) located in a small alley.  End up not eating there at all, but just to visit the shops and gallery on the little alley.

Wandered further to the north and passed the Taichung Civic Square (See 44).  Busy area with families having picnics on the grass.

This area is just much more modernized than Xitun.

Somehow I ended up passing a stall call Peng Sweets å½æ˜¥å¦¹éº»ç³¬ (Eat 81selling hot mochi.

So ooey gooey and full of sesame and peanut powder.  Delicious.

Saw a man walking his pet ducks.  So cute.

Then was in search for Taiwan beef noodle.

Found a noodle place call Sad BoyFood Co. å‚·å¿ƒç‰›è‚‰éºµ (Eat 82).

Small shop decorated with some anime figures.

A small menu.  I just pick the normal beef noodle.  The cheaper beef noodle doesn't come with actual pieces of beef, just noodle in beef soup.

Quite a big bowl.  Very tender beef.  Delicious.

Then went to check out the Sixth Market (Buy 31).  It's not a wet market, but a mall.  Very quiet though.  Definitely more staffs than customers in most of the shops inside.

At front entrance of the mall, there were little stall selling random stuff.

There is a floor for restaurants and this hotpot place caught my eyes.  Cute decorations.

There is a drug store on the first floor.  Lots of Japanese over the counter meds.

As said, the mall is basically empty with no customers.

Couldn't just go back to the hotel.  Wanted to check out one of the many Poya's around for a Banila & Co's loose powder.  It was sold out in many places.

Went to a Poay (Buy 32) near our hotel.

End up getting an Innisfree loose powder as well.  Their new formula is much finer and less drying on the skin~

So much walking throughout the day and really quiet on many of the street in Taichung.  Kinda scary to walk alone at night.

Went to a convenience store for some late night snack before calling it a night.

Self controlled shopping.
