Day 2: Shenji New Village - Taichung, Taiwan
Shenji New Village (See 38), a place lots of stalls selling crafts and DYI and food. It was a dorm compound built by the Taiwan Provincial Government nearly half a century ago to accommodate employees of the auditing office. As the government restructured, the dorms were left unused for years.
I went on a Sunday. Businesses start around noon. The area had just right amount of people around that time. The place gets packed around 3pm.
Super cute kitty that just sits there for visitors to take photos of.
Lots of creative stores selling all kinds of random things that are cute but probably not needed in life. haha.
A shop that sells postcard that you can buy and mail to your future self. Just place your letter to the timeslot you want it to be mailed out.
An ice cream shop with lots of people even when it only just started to open.
People are welcomed to take photos.
It gets busier as time goes by. Many tourists and cosplay girls.
Lots of cute things to buy.
By 5pm, the little cat was surround by a hundred people waiting to take a photo with.
Saw a little cafe call Two Day (Eat 79) with a whole menu of just matcha desserts and drinks. Super packed. Luckily, I managed to get a seat.
Got myself a matcha latte and a matcha basque cheese cake. Surprised by the price. Good deal.
This is the entire shop indoor. Not much seatings at all. There are only a few other seats outside.
Love the green color~
The cheesecake doesn't have a very strong flavor of matcha though. I like that it's not too stiff and not runny. Soft to the right consistency of my liking.
