Day 3: Mitsui Outlet Park Taichung Port 台中三井 - Taichung, Taiwan
Unlucky us. A torn ligament on the 2nd day of our trip. Making a lot of our original plan impossible. But also because of the injury, we discovered a different side of Taiwan.
Instead of exploring the city by foot, we had to look for activities with minimal walking and places with mainly flat ground and preferrable free wheelchair to borrow. Turns out Taiwan is a very much obstacle free city, aside having many small street and alley without a designated sidewalk or a ramp to go up a ledge. There are many malls that offer wheelchairs for free.
At the Mitsui Outlet Park Taichung, there are 8 wheelchairs available that are first come first serve. If visiting on a weekend, these may be all taken out early, but if on weekdays, no one uses them.
First thing was to find a big enough slipper that can fit a foot with a thick bandage.
The ferris wheel was not in operation when we visited. Probably because it was a weekday and the place was quiet.
Managed to win a plush at the claw machine with 1 try.
It's basically the usual brands in any other outlet. Nothing luxury though. We were really there for shopping anyways. Just wanted a place to hangout, that also offers a wheelchair.
An arcade area for the younger kids.
At the time we went, there was a Japanese food fair.
Taiyaki stall was the most popular.
It's by the sea, but doors are locked. Can't go out.
Then it was time to find real food. Got a pretty big foodcourt.
More restaurants on the top floor of the outlet.
Decided to go to the AYCE deep fried skewers - Kushiya Monogatari.
Deep fried veggies are better than the meat in my point of view.
