Day 1: 28 Shu Xiang Hotel 二八树巷艺术文旅 - Taichung, Taiwan
Another trip to Taiwan. Starting our vacation in Taichung. Flying on HK Express. Round tickets to Taiwan with check in luggage was less than HKD 1500. Acted on impulse and clicked the buy button.
Flying on UO means, no water, no food and no plug to charge our phone on flight. But that's OK, since the flight only around 1 hour. The flight to Taichung is shorter than my bus ride to work...
There is still a 5000 TWD lucky draw for tourists to Taiwan. Unfortunately, none of us won the 5000 TWD. Just register for the lucky draw online before the flight and scan the QR code after landing in Taichung.
Taichung airport is pretty close to the city center. Took taxi from airport to hotel and it was around TWD 550 and arrived in around 20 minutes.

We stayed at 28 Shu Xiang Hotel (Stay 7), located in the Xitun District and is around 10 minutes walk from Feng Chia Night Market. It's a small inn/hotel with only 5 floors. It's within a quiet residential area, but still close enough to plenty of restaurants and convenience store.
Love this boutique hotel. They have their own products on sale.
At the entrance is a lounging area.
There are unlimited tea, soft drinks and snacks at the sitting area.
It may not seem like alot, but love the varieties of snacks available.
A bucket of soft drinks for people to take. For those too lazy to walk to the convenience store. For the more health conscious, there are various tea bags.
There are quite a few Taiwanese snacks. Love the salty egg yolk flaky crackers.
This bucket of various instant noodle was our favorite. We would grab a bowl each night as we watch Netflix before bed.
Their room card keys are cute too.
Love their amenity bag that is free for customers to take away at the end of the stay.
One thing I hate about bathrooms in Taiwan is that most of the time, they don't separate the shower and toilet. Luckily, it's separated there.
The room comes with breakfast and after all the tax and fee, it's around USD 100 a night. Definitely worth it. Great location, modern and clean room, amazing staffs.
