Day 5: Travelling on HSR with an injured foot - Taichung, Taiwan

Travelling with an injured foot is not easy.  It is almost impossible to catch a train for someone who is new to using crutches.  Fortunately, almost everywhere has free wheelchair rental.  The HSR station at Taichung (Others 4) is really big, lucky to be able to borrow a wheelchair.

When purchasing for a ticket on the HSR, let the staff know the ticket is for someone with disability.

Then head to the Passenger Service Counter to get a wheelchair.  For those that need someone to help push to the platform, just ask and they will arrange someone to come 5 minutes before departure and push you right to the train.

After that, just wait patiently for someone to come.

Made us really nervous that the staff won't come until 5 minute departure.  It's such a big station, feels like 5 minutes would be enough to get around.

There is a car just for people with disabilities.  So lots of let room.

This is a regular car for comparison.....there is some room, for a luggage for people that are smaller.
