Day 1: Jaffa City in Tel Aviv, Israel
One of the main tourist attraction in Tel Aviv has to be the Old Jaffa (See 1). How to get there? I am sure there is a bus route, but we just took a taxi using Gett. It was about 50 NIS from Azrieli Center. I'd say taxi would be an easy way to get around with 2-4 people. Then the cost won't be so high after splitting and it's just so much more pleasant and comfortable than being squished on the hot bus. It seems people there are used to the heat, so their air conditioning isn't turned on to very high.
The sun in Tel Aviv is deadly. Super hot. It was like 40 C at noon. With the dry weather, the water in me evaporated very quickly. Aside from feeling horrible from the heat, the city is beautiful. People there are really chill. Lots of people hanging around. Makes me wonder if they are all tourists or people in general don't need to work?
We could smell weed everywhere. Seems like a common hobby people have there.
Nice to look out the sea.
Great view looking back to the Tel Aviv city.
After going up to the top, there is an area with some restaurants and snack store.
Super expensive juice, but I was literally dying from thirst and heat. I just had to pay the 25 NIS for the tiny cup of ice cold juice.
It was so hot that our phone was starting to die.
It was difficult to enjoy the place with the heat. I couldn't think straight and just quickly walk down the hill and wanted to find an air conditioned place to sit down and rest.
It was still a nice walk down with a view.
There are many stray cats in Tel Aviv. All are so friendly, just like the people.
It was about a 15 minute walk to the Clock Tower (See 4).
Ran into the first 7-11 we saw to get some water and cool down with the AC inside. Then we saw they sell some Korean instant noodle. 10-13 NIS for instant noodle? That is just ridiculous. If people from Tel Aviv visit Hong Kong, they can probably live like a king.
Then we also found a problem. We are really short compared to Israeli. All the cheap drinks are high up on shelves. We can only reach the expensive 7-10 NIS cans of soft drinks.
Anyways, the general look of the street near Old Jaffa is like this. Every corner looks like it is IGable.
