Day 2: Mahane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem, Israel
One of the touristy attraction in Jerusalem is Mahane Yehuda Market (Eat 3). From the Yitzhak Navon train station, go to the light rail Central Station (Others 5).
Take the light rail and get off at Mahane Yehuda light rail station (Others 7). It's about 5 minutes light rail ride only.
The market is just a minute walk from the light rail station. This is what it looks like during the day for the outdoor part. People say it's livelier at night.
There are more vendors inside the covered part of the market.
Inside, there are fresh meat and seafood, tea, spice, sweets and many more.
Some of them give out samples, so we could taste before buying.
Lots of sweets that I have no idea what they are called. All very syrupy. It's good if it's just one piece. Too sweet to eat more than one, in my point of view.
Lots of tea selections too.
Not very crowded on the day I went. Maybe because it was still early.
Kept seeing lots of shops like this one selling gummies when they are laying out in the open. It was almost 40 C when I went. How do the gummies not melt? Personally, I like prepackage candies.
