Day 2: Affordable pita in downtown Jerusalem, Israel

We were wondering where people shop and eat in Jerusalem when we saw a street with brands we are more familiar with and just a lot more young people walking around.  We hopped off the light rail at Jaffa Center Station (Others 9).  This area seems to be the downtown area of Jerusalem.  Lots of shops and restaurants.  There are people busking and chilling.  It's between the Old City and the Yitzhak Navon Station.  So, it's a place that can't be missed.  Google map really helped us get around.  No idea how people could get around without a smartphone in the past....especially for people that are not good at using paper map, like myself.  Just love that we got data on our phone.  Just get an esim and we are good to go anywhere around the world.

Restaurant and food vendors started opening for business around 5pm.  Immediately people are swarming around the shops for food.  With everything so expensive in Israel, we finally found a place with cheaper pita/shawarma.  Only 45 NIS and they are huge at שווארמה הטורקי Turkish Shawarma‎‎ (Eat 6).

Cheers!

They may look messy, but they are good.  The pita was so soft and fluffy.  The falafel was savory and the chicken so juicy.  Would love to have more!

After dinner was time to head back to Tel Aviv.
