Day 10: Levinski Market - Spice Shopping in Tel Aviv, Israel
I love the flavor of middle eastern food. Love the spice and seasoning they use. Discoverered Levinski Market (Shop 9), a heaven for spice shopping. Again, I just use the Moovit app to show me the route to the market on bus. Very convenient and easy to use.
Tel Aviv is a small city. Getting around everywhere is very quick.
The market is not just for spice, they sell random things as well.
The sun is bright as usual...burning my skin.
Soon enough, I could see shops selling spices. Some shops' spices are all out in the open like this. Some are neatly packaged.
The market sells a lot of dried nuts as well.
Personally, I like buying from shops where the spices/food are packaged. Although the processing flow is probably the same, but it just makes me feel better seeing the food is not out in the open street catching dust.
I ended up shopping here at Tavlinsky (Shop 10). Saw good reviews on them in Google map and mainly because the spices are neatly packaged in a bottle so it is easier for me to pack back home. The shop owner was very thoughtful and ask if I will be flying and helped me double bag everything to make sure there won't be any leakage.
Shawarma spice is a must buy. Their shawarma spice smells just like the ones I taste in restaurants. Also got their mountain mix for salad. Super delicious. Got a few more other spices, all good. The shop owner was very friendly and recommended me several spices base on what I like.
This is what the outside of the shop looks like.
There are many other shops to check out.
