Day 2 - Spring 2023 Seoul - Seoul Children’s Grand Park
A somewhat closer zoo to the city of Seoul is the Seoul Children's Grand Park (See 64). Was skeptical about this park before going since it's free entry. Was worried the park would be small with nothing much to see. We were so wrong. It's so big with so many different animals that we can't believe it is free. How does it keep running without any entry fee?
The park is about few minutes walk from the Children's Grand Park station exit 1 or about 25,000 won by taxi from Hongdae. The weather wasn't great and we were in a hurry, so we chose to taxi instead, which was a wrong move. There were so much traffic, even on a weekday afternoon, that it took 40 minutes to get there, which is probably the same amount of time if we just took the train. The only good thing about taking taxi was that we get to sit through the ride instead of standing in a crowded train.
Other than the amusement park, we basically went to all parts of the park. Only elephants were not seen that day as there were some constructions happening at the elephant cage.
There are some convenience stores in park as well. Nice to grab a drink while strolling through the park.
Since it was early April, there were still some cherry blossoms left for photos. If only we were there a few days earlier, the pictures would have looked amazing.
Lots of animals to look at.
There is a Seoul Children Museum inside the park that offers free phone charging. Accidentally found it when we were trying to ask the reception if they can help use charge our phone. Can lock up the phone like any hotel safe. Inside are cables for all types of common smart phones.
