Day 4 - Spring 2023 in Seoul - Seongsu - Marly Cafe 마를리 and Door to Seongsu by GS25
2nd cafe of the day. Marly 마를리 (Eat 141). It isn't a super big cafe. On a cold rainy weekday afternoon, the place was about 80% filled. We liked the furnishing, simple and woody, so we decided to go in. The menu is all in Korean and the staff speak zero English. Luckily we have google translate.
Quite a warm cozy feel.
Other than cakes in the fridge, they sell scones too.
Either there isn't a minimum charge per head or the staff didn't know how to communicate with us, but we were allowed to order 1 cake. They sell candles at the counter as well. So, we were able to celebrate my belated birthday.
Ordered a grapefruit earl grey cake. It's soft and moist. The grapefruit flavor makes it interesting. It's a little too sweet and oily to my taste though. I would rate it a 3.5/5. We didn't stay long. Only sat for around 30 minutes to rest and left after finishing our cake.
Just a few minutes alk from Marly is Door to Seongsu by GS25 (Eat 142). They have different theme from time to time. This time we went, they have a care bear theme. Can't believe this is a convenience store. So pretty and interesting.
They got the regular drinks just like any convenience store.
Really interesting that is that it has beer on tap.
Also wine on tap
There is even a fridge of snacks to go with the wine.
For people who don't like alcohol, there is a wall of coffee machine.
